Irn-Bru hijack Lewis Capaldi's half-naked billboard photoshoot with cheeky ad campaign

Irn-Bru have hijacked Lewis Capaldi's naked billboard and turned it into their own cheeky ad campaign.

The 25-year-old singer unveiled his brand new billboard to promote his upcoming single Forget Me, which is set to be released on Friday, September 9. The Someone You Loved singer stripped off everything but his boxers and sunglasses to celebrate his return to music.

The West Lothian star announced the news of his highly anticipated new music during a TikTok live last week as he performed at the O2 arena in London. However, now Irn Bru have revealed a revamped version of Capaldi's bold advertisement.

The Irn-Bru official Twitter account wrote: "Fixed it pal," alongside a winking emoji as they tagged the Bruises singer. Alongside the post, the company shared an edited version of his ad where instead of white briefs, Capaldi is wearing orange and blue boxers holding a tin of the fizzy drink instead of his original cocktail.

They have also renamed the popular singer as 'BRUis Capaldi'.

Fans loved the new version of the ad and took to Twitter. One joked: "He could of saved himself some money and went 50/50 on the advertising eh".

Another said: "This is glorious," as a third penned: "BRUis Capaldi has buckled me"

Taking to Twitter to share the snaps on Monday night, Capaldi wrote: "Took my clothes off and traumatised the general public all in the name of shameless self promotion. Sex sells. New single FORGET ME out the 9th September x"

The billboard sees a shirtless Capaldi straight faced, as he poses wearing nothing but boxers and sunglasses while holding a cocktail. Following the snaps, he wrote: "I swear to god if I’ve stripped down to my pants and put it on billboards all over the world to promote this new single just for it to be a massive flop I’ll be so embarrassed"

This comes after Capaldi responded to a fan pointed out the resemblance between him and new Prime Minister Liz Truss. The Bruises singer replied after a fan wrote: "Congratulations @LewisCapaldi on becoming the next Prime minister #LizTruss," alongside an older photo of Truss from her campaigning days in the 1990s.

Lewis Capaldi's new single Forget Me will be released Friday 9 September.
