Irish weather: Make the most of the warm days warns Met Eireann in latest forecast as rain on the way

Make the most of the warm, dry weather because rain is on its way, weather chiefs have warned.

There are just a few days to enjoy the current sunny spell before the clouds start gathering on Saturday.

Until then, there is more glorious sunshine with daytime temperature highs of 17C.

State weather service Met Eireann's latest bulletin is also warning of night-time temperatures close to freezing.

But, looking further ahead, the meteorological service is forecasting that next week should see a return of another dry spell with even warmer temperatures.

A forecaster said: “There will be sunny spells again tomorrow (Thursday) and staying mostly dry with highest temperatures of 12C to 17C.

“It will be dry, clear and cold overnight, with lowest temperatures of 1C to 3C.

“Friday is set to be another dry and sunny start to the day. Once again, cloud will bubble up along with an isolated light shower.

“Highest daytime temperatures of 13C to 16C degrees, while overnight temperatures on Friday night will generally range from 1C to 5C.

“We’ll see a change on Saturday – which will be a largely cloudy day with light rain and drizzle.

“Highest temperatures of 12C to 15C in light variable breezes, the higher values in the east and it won’t be cold overnight.

“Temperatures will stop falling at 7C to 9C.

“There will be a few showers on Sunday too with light variable breezes and temperatures of 14C to 16C.

“The further outlook suggests largely dry weather with sunny spells and isolated showers with temperatures gradually starting to rise and the end of the cold nights.”
