Irish takeaway chain Pizza Max opens first Lanarkshire outlet

An Irish pizza brand is bringing its renowned pies to Lanarkshire.

Pizza Max this week opened its new takeaway in Newmains, and is hoping to become an established takeaway brand in the area.

The chain, which has more than 25 outlets in Ireland, already has two restaurants in Glasgow.

The Newmains outlet also sells burgers, kebabs and a range of sides such as wings, chips and nachos.

Owner Hassan Khaliq told Lanarkshire Live: "Pizza Max is a really popular Irish company with lots of stores across the country but we are the first few branches in Scotland.

"This Newmains store is the first outside of Glasgow and our third store.

"We specialise in fresh dough pizzas, which are made by the company and sent to us. We make up the pizzas in-store with fresh sauces and toppings.

"The dough has proved really popular in the other stores and we have been doing really good business in those stores already.

"We had been looking at the Wishaw/Newmains area for some time as we are aware this is a really good area.

"We are now open for business and it is really easy to order. You can come in-store or order on our website for delivery.

"We are really excited to finally open and are sure the people of Newmains will treat us well."
