An Irish syndicate celebrated a dream Aintree win as Fennors Cross took home victory in the William Hill Handicap Hurdle.
Ridden by Ben Harvey, the 8/1 priced horse, which only cost the syndicate €1,400 finished strongly to win by a length ahead of Buddy One and take home the €47,700 in prize money.
After the win, head of the syndicate Andy spoke to ITV Racing's Matt Chapman at his joy at having an Aintree winner.

"It's absolutely fantastic. I can't believe it. Coming here 18 years now and my dream was to have a runner here, but to have a winner is absolutely fantastic."
The name of the syndicate is positivity, and as Andy told Chapman, that name is an ironic one given the pessimistic views of one of the syndicate members.
"We have one lad who's not here who's called Fergal and he's the most negative man in the EU.
"So I said we'll call it the positivity syndicate because every time the horse ran he'd find faults in it and go 'nah, he won't win that race today and blah, blah."
"And these were Mickey Mouse races at the start like 0-65 around Gowran Park and all the rest. But, to be fair, credit to that horse. That horse only cost €1,400."
