Irish astronomy lovers were out in force last night as the latest Supermoon - Buck Moon - began to rise over the country.
Clear skies, thanks to the current heatwave, left some with the most stunning view, and many have since shared their images online.
On Wednesday, not only did the moon have spectacular orange hues, as every rising Moon does when on the horizon, but the sheer size of this one left people in awe.
If you missed last night’s show, Astronomy Ireland has confirmed that the spectacular view will be around tonight again at 11:10 pm - so get your reminders set on your phone.
In a statement, a spokesperson said: “Astronomy Ireland advises everyone to take advantage of the fine weather with clear skies and get out and see the Supermoon tonight.
“Known as the Buck Moon, tonight's Full Moon is a Supermoon, larger and brighter than usual.
“Wednesday is the best night with the moon rising at 10.30 pm but Thursday will be good also with the moon rising at 11.10 pm.”
Speaking about Wednesday’s spectacle, one person wrote on Twitter: “With the biggest moon of the year we took a trip to Tramore to watch the Super Moon rise! What a sight it was.”
Another said: “Caught the Supermoon tonight over Dublin.. Simply stunning.”
