Reforest Nation is joining forces with the Sikh community in Ireland to plant a forest in Co Wicklow for Ukraine this month.
Activists from EcoSikh Ireland are set to sow a whopping 10,000 trees in Greystones with members of the refugee community in Ireland. The tree-planting events will take place on February 18 and 25 in honour of the people of Ukraine and refugees across the globe.
Reforest Nation founder Gearóid Mc Evoy said: "Without volunteers, the work we are doing would not be possible; we invite anyone with a spade or shovel to join us and help make this forest a reality."

EcoSikh Ireland project manager Satwinder Singh said: "We hope that being out in the fresh air planting trees will be a therapeutic experience for people who have had their lives upended; we also hope it helps refugees and asylum seekers feel part of the community and connected to the land, which many now call home."
The forest will consist of 17 species of native trees including oak, willow, hazel, and cherry to encourage biodiversity. A fundraiser will be hosted on the day to fund more trees for the future and support important causes that work to help refugees rebuild their lives.
You can register to volunteer at the tree planting on the Reforest Nation website.
