It was far from an ideal start for the Irish at the WM Phoenix Open in Arizona.
Both Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry are in action but did not get off to a fast start in Phoenix.
No Irish player has ever won the event and Lowry and McIlroy both dented their hopes of capturing the title massively on Day One.
Lowry has new caddie Darren Reynolds on the bag but shot a four over par to leave him 117th.
The 2019 Open winner hit five bogeys but did birdie the par five 15th.
Rory McIlroy is in action for the first time since winning in Dubai and finished two over par.
The Hollywood man had three bogeys on his front nine but did hit two birdies.
McIlroy would bogey two of his second nine and is in a tie for 82nd.
Canadians Nick Taylor and Adam Hadwin lead the way on five under par.
