An Irish person is reported to been among those onboard the plane that crashed in Nepal on Sunday which left 68 people dead.
The twin-engine ATR aircraft was carrying 72 people when it crashed near Pokhara International Airport in Nepal, RTE news reports. The condition of the Irish national is not known at this time.
It is understood that passengers onboard include five Indian nationals, four Russians, two South Korean, one Australian, one French and one Argentinian national, and reportedly one Irish citizen. The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that it is aware of an incident.

A spokesman for the Department of Foreign Affairs told Dublin Live: "The Department of Foreign Affairs is aware of reports of the involvement of an Irish citizen in an airplane crash in Nepal, and stands ready to provide consular assistance if requested. Reports say the plane crashed as it was coming in to land, around 11.10am local time (05.25am Irish time).
The crash is the country's worst air crash in nearly five years. Hundreds of rescue workers are understood to be currently at the scene of the crash.
