Irish people with old pounds lying around could earn a mint as millions still not changed to euros

Irish people will old Irish punts lying around the house could be in for a big payday.

Almost €350 million worth of Ireland's former currency have yet to be changed into euros, meaning those with old bags of coins and cash could be looking at a pretty penny worth of cash.

Ireland adopted the euro in on January 1, 2002, with people across the country scrambling at the time to get used to the new currency.
