A social media post by the BBC has caused a considerable degree of outrage amongst Irish people after it referred to Cristiano Ronaldo 'throwing a bit of a paddy' when he stormed off down the tunnel during Man United's match against Spurs.
Twitter user Patrick87 brought attention to it by sharing a screenshot while asking: "Excuse me, throwing a bit of a what? What the hell is this from the BBC in 2022?"
And plenty of others felt similarly annoyed by the outdated remark as at the time of writing his post has gained over 2000 likes and 250 retweets.
