Former Olympic boxer Paddy Barnes has said he will not be commenting on a video appearing to show him close to the scene of a brawl in Belfast on Saturday night.
Mr Barnes was appointed as a member of the Probation Board for Northern Ireland last month for a three-year term.
PBNI has said it is aware of the video and that as it is the subject of a police investigation, "we have no further comment".
Mr Barnes told Belfast Live he has spoken to a solicitor, but that as the matter is being dealt with by police, he did not wish to comment.
The video in question has circulated on social media and appears to show a number of people involved in a fight inside a premises, before spilling out onto the street.
A 33-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of a suspected Class A drug following the incident was released on bail pending further enquiries.
The double Olympic medallist was one of 13 new appointments to PBNI.
Speaking at the time of the appointments, the then Justice Minister Naomi Long said: “In addition to playing a key role in reducing crime and preventing re-offending through the effective supervision of people who have offended, PBNI delivers a number of justice priorities.
"These include tackling issues around domestic abuse, sexual and violent offences and implementing problem solving justice initiatives."
Mr Barnes is currently a club development officer for Ulster boxing within the Irish Athletic Boxing Association, dealing with a range of issues from governance to fundraising opportunities for clubs.
He is also a member of both the Northern Ireland Commonwealth Games and Irish Olympic team's athlete advisory committees.
The main activities of the Probation Board for Northern Ireland include the supply of information to the courts through pre-sentence reports; the supervision of offenders made subject to community disposals; and the provision of social welfare services in prisons.
The Board also funds community initiatives aimed at supporting the statutory supervision of offenders in the community.
The remuneration for the post of Chair is £33,010 per annum and for Board Member is £5,050 per annum.
There is no suggestion Mr Barnes was in any way linked to the brawl.
