Irish man drowns while on holidays with friends off the coast of Crete

A Galway man has tragically died following a drowning incident in Greece, Galway Beo has reported.

The young man was in the island of Crete on holiday with his friends when the incident occurred.

It is understood he lost consciousness while swimming off the coast of Hersonissos and was swept out further to sea by the currents.
