Once bitten, twice shy.
It appears like bookmakers are keeping Linfield onside when it comes to the latest betting odds for this season's Irish Premiership.
David Healy's Blues are bang in contention but have been usurped at the top of the table by Big Two rivals Glentoran.
The Gens' 1-0 win over Warrenpoint Town on Saturday, coupled with Linfield's 3-0 defeat to Coleraine, saw the East Belfast men take a two-point lead at the summit with 13 games remaining this season.
The two sides meet in a massive Big Two showdown on February 11, where the result could go a long way to determining the destination of the title.
Of the bookmakers offering odds on the Irish Premiership, two still believe Linfield deserve to be favourites.
Both William Hill and Boylesports have the Blues at 11/10, while William Hill have the Glens at 7/4 and Boylesports 13/8.
Next it's Cliftonville at 9/2, and then there is a big jump to Larne who are sitting at 20/1.
One bookmaker who is torn on who should be favourites is BetMcLean - who sponsor Glentoran - they are offering both teams at 11/8.
They also have Cliftonville at 9/2 and 20/1 bar.
Best selected odds
- Linfield 11/8
- Glentoran 7/4
- Cliftonville 9/2
- Larne 20/1
- Crusaders 25/1
- Coleraine 200/1
- Ballymena 500/1
Bookmakers have been burnt in the past with Linfield, the Blues having come from behind on numerous occasions to win the Gibson Cup.
It's in their DNA, and with that in mind the bookies are taking no chances with the current betting.
