Irish iPhone users warned of price hikes that will hit hundreds of thousands of users who already own phone

Irish people who own an iPhone can expect to see some price hikes from the start of next month - and it all comes down to how you use your phone.

The company recently showed off it's latest bits of technology at a glitzy event, including four new iPhones, three Apple watches and AirPods Pro 2.

The basic iPhone 14 will set you back over €1,000.

While the latest round of price increases isn't as high, things will start to get more expensive from October 5.

The company says: "As early as October 5, 2022, prices of apps and in-app purchases (excluding auto-renewable subscriptions) on the App Store will increase in Chile, Egypt, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Poland, South Korea, Sweden, Vietnam, and all territories that use the euro currency.

"Once these changes go into effect, the Pricing and Availability section of My Apps will be updated. You can change the price of your apps and in-app purchases (including auto-renewable subscriptions) at any time in App Store Connect. If you offer subscriptions, you can choose to preserve prices for existing subscribers."

What that means in plain terms is that you'll no longer be able to get an app for 99c.

Instead, the minimum price will be €1.19.
