The pensioner who made headlines after falling in love with an Egyptian toyboy has hit back at trolls who claimed the newlyweds had split up. Iris Jones, 82, said the 'misguided intruders tell lies because they lead miserable lives' in an online appearance with her 36-year-old husband, Mohamed Ahmed Ibriham, by her side.
The married couple spent time apart last month because Mohamed had to return home to Cairo to look after his sick father. However they say people questioned if the pair had separated for good.
Hitting back at negative commenters, Mohamed, who swept the British grandma off her feet when they met in 2019 through a Facebook page for atheists, told them to 'get a life and go to hell.' Taking a stand together to set the record straight, the couple filmed themselves for a YouTube video, titled 'This is our response to cowardly intruders'.

Despite the odds, the unconventional couple with a 46-year age gap is still going strong three years on. They tied the knot in 2020 and Mohamed eventually moved into Iris' home in Somerset after he was granted a three-year visa.
With Iris sitting on her hubby's lap, Mohamed said to the camera: "They say we are separated, we are divorced because I go to Egypt last month. They say that in media, and social media... what do you answer...?"
Iris responded: "Well, they're very misguided, they don't know their a*se from their elbow, they just tell lies because they've got nothing else to report, they lead sad, miserable lives, and they deserve our sympathy."
Mohamed asked: "Why did I go to Egypt last month?" Iris said: "My hubby went to Egypt to look after his sick father. He had a big cancer operation and the thing is, he may not have made it, so luckily, he did recover, and now Mohamed, after spending a month in Egypt, is now back in England with his beloved wife."
"Thank you lovely wife... what message do you have for silly, b***** people?" asked Mohamed. "Get a life, please," Iris replied.
Her husband, before kissing her on the cheek, added: "And I will say to them, go to hell b***** jealous people. F*** you." The clip was welcomed by YouTube users, with many commenting with well-wishes.
Zoé wrote: "So happy to see you both back together again." Helen Ridley said: "Dear Mohammed and Iris. Great to see you back together. Please do not be concerned with others. Just enjoy your life together. Kind regards Helen".
Viv Green responded: "Mohamed so glad that your father's operation went well, so nice to see you and Iris together and so happy god bless." This is the second video Mohamed has uploaded in recent days.
Whilst he was away, he filmed himself upset at Cairo airport. "I miss my wife Iris, I miss her, I miss my life with my wife," he said, before repeating: "I miss Iris so much, Iris my love, my wife." The time apart also saw Iris taking to Facebook to declare her love for her husband last week, saying she had realised what a 'priceless gem' her hubby is.
"Love is knowing you look like s**t after a days housework and gardening, without a scrap of make up on dressed in my scruff," she wrote. "After a month's absence, my wonderful husband will welcome me just the way I am, because that's what love is all about.
"Welcome home, Mohamed. Missing you this past month has made me realise what a priceless gem you are. This rough diamond of a wife will be more appreciative of you in the future."
The pensioner first made headlines in January 2020 by sharing intimate details of her sex life. Speaking on ITV's This Morning, she had hosts Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby blushing.
Describing their first night of passion, Iris said: “Pretty rough. Nobody had been near me for 35 years. I thought I was a virgin again.
“Can I say we used a whole tube of KY Jelly? I couldn’t walk the next day. I felt as if I had been riding a horse. Saddle sore wasn’t in it. Anyway we got over that.”
