A bitter blast of Arctic winds will send temperatures tumbling, with Met Eireann forecasting lows of just 3C overnight.
The national forecaster said: “A predominantly northwesterly airflow will lead to a mostly polar maritime airmass affecting the country, bringing close to average or slightly below temperatures for the time of year.”
While today is set to be mostly dry and sunny with highs of 14C to 16C, the meteorological service says it will turn “quite chilly” overnight.
