Ireland is set for a wet start to the day before the rain clears away, leaving some sunny spells. However, scattered showers will remain throughout the east and north.
Met Eireann has forecast temperatures to remain relatively high with humid conditions to be seen across the country. Leinster and east Ulster are to see the worst of the weather, with persistent rain likely.
A forecaster said: “Some heavy rain pushing up tomorrow afternoon, especially in Eastern areas. Followed by sunny spells and showers with a risk of heavy showers later tomorrow evening.”

Tuesday, May 17
A cloudy start in the east and north with patchy rain and drizzle. More persistent rain will spread across Leinster and east Ulster through the morning and afternoon, turning heavy at times before clearing in the evening.
A drier day further west with sunny spells but scattered showers will develop in the afternoon, turning heavy or thundery at times.
Highs of 14 to 17 degrees in moderate to fresh southerly winds, strong for a time on western coasts.
Early tonight, scattered showers will spread across the country from the southwest, with some heavy or thundery downpours.
The showers will clear northeastwards by morning, leaving a largely dry and clear end to the night.
Breezy though with moderate to fresh southerly winds, strong at times on western coasts. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees.
Wednesday, May 18
Tomorrow morning will be largely dry and sunny apart from isolated showers in the northwest.
However, cloud will build from the west through the day as a band of rain gradually spreads over the country from the southwest, turning heavy in places with the potential for isolated thunderstorms.
Becoming blustery with fresh and gusty southerly winds, increasing strong at times. Highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees.
Rain will clear to the northeast, leaving a dry night with long clear spells.
A few mist and fog patches will develop as southerly winds ease light to moderate, though fresher along western coasts. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees.
Thursday, May 19
A good deal of dry weather with sunny spells on Thursday, though scattered showers will develop through the day.
Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees in moderate to fresh southwest winds, strong near western coasts.
Cloud will increase from the Atlantic overnight, with outbreaks of rain spreading across the western half of the country and turning heavy in places.
Lowest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees in moderate southerly winds
Friday, May 20
A wet day on Friday. Rain will spread eastwards in the morning before clearing into the Irish Sea by afternoon.
It will be followed by a mix of sunny spells and scattered heavy showers. Highest temperatures 13 to 17 degrees in moderate to fresh westerly winds.
Showers will ease overnight, leaving plenty of dry weather and clear spells apart from isolated light showers. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees.
Saturday, May 21
Turning cloudy again on Saturday with patchy rain spreading from the west. Highest temperatures 12 to 16 degrees in moderate southwest winds.
Current indications suggest there will be further rain on Sunday and Monday, with temperatures remaining in the mid-teens.
