Ireland's weather will improve over the coming days as temperatures rise back into the twenties by the middle of next week.
A mixed end to June has continued into the early days of July but a pleasant turn looks set to be just around the corner.
A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Rather cloudy early next week with patchy rain or showers at times, especially in the west and north. Some sunshine further east and south. Becoming warmer and sunnier by the end of the week."
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday all look set to see 20C temperatures before it picks up even more as the weekend approaches, the forecaster added: "High pressure building later in the week bringing more sunshine and warmer temperatures."
The weekend ahead is set to be largely pleasant however showers are likely in many parts of the country.
The forecaster added: "There will be a mix of bright or sunny spells and scattered showers today. A few heavy showers are possible in the afternoon. Highest temperatures will range from 16 to 19 degrees in a moderate southwest breeze, fresh or strong at times along Atlantic coasts.
"A good deal of cloud across the country on Sunday but with lots of dry weather. Some sunny spells will occur at times along with just well-scattered showers. Maximum temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees in a moderate west or northwest breeze."
However, weather chiefs aren't predicting a particularly warm July with temperatures normal or a degree above up until the middle of the month, with little in the way of rain.
Low pressure is set to move in halfway through the month with rain and slightly lower temperatures likely for the remainder of the month.
