Ireland is set to see a wet and windy start to the day as the country is to be battered with strong gales.
Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow Wind warning for Donegal, Galway and Mayo, which will remain in place until 8pm Thursday night.
Strong to gale force south to southwest winds are forecast, with gusts of 90 to 110km/h expected.

A forecaster said: “Some windy weather ahead tomorrow and Friday. Take care around coasts and also if commuting by bike or on foot. Rain will mainly be in Western areas but showers possible elsewhere. Also very mild with temperatures up to 16c or even 17c”.
However, things will take a much more milder turn as the weekend arrives with higher than average temperatures expected.
Meanwhile, today will see a good deal of cloud. There will be good dry periods and just patchy rain or drizzle. However, more persistent rain will develop in western and northwestern counties in the evening.
Top temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in strong and gusty south or southwest winds, with gales developing at the coast.
Staying mild and breezy overnight, with outbreaks of rain affecting Atlantic coastal counties at times.

Rain is expected to affect parts of Munster and Connacht on Sunday night, but it looks set to be largely dry elsewhere.

Early indications are that Tuesday will be a breezy day with outbreaks of rain. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees.
