Nearly half of the country is now at risk of disruption from the weather - as Met Éireann's multiple weather warnings have come into effect.
Cork, Kerry, Waterford, Wexford and Wicklow face a status orange alert, while Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly, Tipperary, Cavan, Monaghan, Dublin, Kildare, Louth and Meath ALL face a status yellow warning.
All of them are down to rain and that's before you take in the wind and the potential for thunderstorms.
Things will be worst in the south and east, with the thundery conditions making their way northwards as we progress through Wednesday afternoon.
The national forecaster publish three forecast each day with updated predictions and models, and their first one on Wednesday morning summarises just how grim it will be over the next 24 hours.
It reads: "Outbreaks of heavy or thundery rain this morning moving northwards leading to localised flooding. A dry spell will develop in many areas although rain will linger in parts of the north and east into the afternoon.
"Further falls of heavy or thundery rain will move up across the country from the south through the evening and early night. Very breezy and blustery with fresh to strong and gusty easterly winds. Highs of 11 to 15C."
Wednesday evening is not looking much better, though at time of writing, the three weather warnings in place will expire at midnight.
Met Éireann warn: "Outbreaks of heavy rain with possible thunderstorms will track northwards across the country tonight leading to localised flooding. Drier conditions with clear spells and isolated showers will follow from the south later. Fresh to strong southeasterly winds will ease somewhat overnight. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 12C."
Things do take a turn for the better on Thursday, as temperatures reach a sweltering 17C - but that doesn't mean that the rain will disappear either, as the national forecaster notes that the current outlook is "unsettled, with rain most days"
