Ireland is set for a mixed bag of conditions for the rest of the week, with today getting off to a cold and frosty start.
Met Eireann has warned motorists of mist and icy patches this morning. However, this will clear, bringing some sunny spells with a few scattered showers.
St Patrick's Day will be mostly dry, with some cloud lingering in places and strong gusts expected.

A forecaster said: "Rain clearing overnight with some showers tomorrow but also plenty of sunny spells. A nice few days ahead now with just the odd shower and very breezy Thursday. Weekend looking good too."
Conditions will become milder on Friday with sunny spells expected before a risk of thunderstorms on Saturday.

Wednesday, March 16
Mainly cold and clear early this morning with frost and icy patches, and some mist.
In the east and southeast, outbreaks of rain will clear, but cloud will linger for a time.
Frost and any mist will clear to give a mainly bright day with sunny spells and well-scattered showers.
Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees with light to moderate westerly breezes.
Tonight will be mainly dry with clear spells. However, cloud will move in from the Atlantic overnight, and showery rain will develop in Connacht, Ulster and west Munster.
Lowest temperatures of -2 to +2 degrees with frost and icy patches.
Thursday, March 17
St Patrick's Day will be mostly cloudy, with showery rain moving eastwards across the country.
It will become drier and brighter through the afternoon, with showers becoming isolated.
Breezy with fresh, gusty southwest winds, which will ease later.
Highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees, mildest in the southeast.
St Patrick's night will be dry with clear spells and frost places.
Lowest temperatures of -2 to +2 degrees.
Friday, March 18
Friday will be dry with good sunny spells. It will be noticeably milder with highest temperatures of 10 to 15 degrees and moderate south to southeast breezes.
It will be coolest along the south and east coasts and mildest in the midlands and Connacht.
Friday night will be dry and clear with a light to moderate southeasterly breeze. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees.
Saturday, March 18
Saturday will be dry and mild with sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 10 to 15 degrees with light to moderate southeasterly breezes.
Showers will move up from the southeast and extend to much of the country overnight through Saturday evening and night. Some will be heavy with a possibility of isolated thunderstorms—lowest temperatures of 1 to 6 degrees, coldest in the north.
Sunday, March 19
There will be some further showers over the western half of the country on Sunday morning.
These will clear to the west, and the day will be mainly dry with sunny spells.
Continuing mild with highest temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees and moderate east to southeast breezes.
Monday, March 20
Monday will start off dry and bright. However, cloud will increase from the east, and showery rain will develop later in the day and spread westwards.
It will be cooler than previous days, with highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees and moderate to fresh easterly winds.
