Ireland weather: Met Eireann forecasts exact date of huge temperature upswing as summer weather returns

Ireland is set for a dry and sunny end to the week as temperatures climb to the mid-twenties.

Met Eireann has forecast the warmest conditions to arrive on Wednesday, and it looks as though the good weather will continue for the remainder of the week.

Weather expert Alan O'Reilly of Carlow Weather said: "Up to 18c in the Southeast with some nice sunny spells in the Southwest, Southeast and East now. A petty good week ahead with temperatures rising from tomorrow and largely dry for most areas."

He added: "Latest GFS weather charts rolling out. High pressure keeping most of the rain away and getting warmer. For those asking about dropping hay it's looking pretty good for most areas from Wednesday."
