Ireland weather: Met Eireann forecast terrible period but date of possible 'high pressure' turn just around the corner

Ireland is set for terrible period of weather with heavy rain and wind forecast for the week ahead.

However, as June comes to unseasonablly wet end, there is hope just around the corner with things looking up by the end of the week.

Met Eireann have predicted a possible build in 'high pressure', which usually brings sunshine and dry weather.

A forecaster said: "Current indications suggest that conditions will remain unsettled through the week as low pressure continues to dominate, although there are some tentative signs for high pressure to build by... the 1st of July."
