Met Eireann are forecasting a dive in temperatures over the weekend as it gets as low as 6C in parts of the country at night.
While much of Europe and even the UK are seeing a scorching heatwave with 34C in London, Ireland will miss out for now at least.
A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Largely cloudy this morning in the south and southeast, persisting through much of the day, with patchy rain at times. Bright or sunny spells elsewhere along with isolated showers, mainly in the northwest. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees in a mostly moderate northwest wind, fresher near northern and western coasts.

"Dry for most with clear spells. A few showers will occur, mainly confined to northern and western coastal counties. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees in a light to moderate northwesterly breeze with some mist patches developing but winds will continue to be fresh along northern and Atlantic coasts.
"Largely cloudy tomorrow morning with limited sunny spells and well scattered showers. It will become drier and sunnier towards the evening. Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees, coolest in the north with a mostly moderate northerly wind."
But there could be some good news just around the corner with temperatures back up into the twenties next week and plenty of dry weather along with it.
The forecaster added: "Changeable weather over next week but there will be a good deal of dry weather at times, especially in the south and east. Turning milder with temperatures getting up to high teens or low twenties."
Weather expert Alan O'Reilly of Carlow Weather also forecast a nice start to the week after the weekend drop.
He said on social media: "While temperatures take a big drop tomorrow and Sunday they will pick back up again Monday and Tuesday to 20c or 21c. After Tuesday is very uncertain but it could stay warmer for a few more days before another big drop for next weekend. Very little rain expected, just odd shower."
