Met Eireann are forecasting a turn to wet conditions this weekend as cooler air moves in over the country on Saturday.
Temperatures could be as high as 20C in some parts of the country today with good sunshine but areas in the south could be as low as 14C as rain moves in.
A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Today will be dry with spells of sunshine in many areas. However, it will be cloudier in Munster and south Leinster with scattered showers this morning and showery rain developing through the day, most persistent in the afternoon.
"Highest temperatures of 14 degrees in the east to 20 degrees in the west, though it will turn cooler over the southern half of the country as rain develops, in moderate easterly winds."

Again the south of the country will have the worst of it on Sunday with more cloud cover and more likelihood of rain, while Connacht and Ulster see pleasant weather.
The forecaster added: "Tomorrow will be largely dry with sunny spells for Connacht and Ulster. However, it will be cloudy in Munster and Leinster with scattered showers.
"Patchy rain will develop in Leinster and parts of Munster during the afternoon and evening, but it will stay drier apart from scattered showers elsewhere. Highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees generally, but reaching 18 or 19 degrees in the west and northwest, in light to moderate easterly winds."
And summer weather isn't looking like returning anytime soon with very unsettled conditions for the next week.
The Met Eireann chiefs forecast: "A mix of showers and sunny spells to start the week but it will turn more unsettled from Wednesday onwards with spells of rain and breezy conditions at times."
