Ireland weather: Met Eireann forecast major turn from heatwave as 'long trousers' conditions back

Ireland is set to see wet and windy conditions today as temperatures struggle to climb over 17 degrees.

Much of the country saw flash flooding yesterday evening as torrential rain battered areas as the heatwave experienced over the past week came to an almighty end.

A forecaster said on Monday: "Back the long trousers tomorrow with temperatures struggling to get above 17c in many areas. Breezy too with some gusty conditions."
