Met Eireann has predicted the arrival of a summer blast of heat this weekend as any residual rain and clouds disperse.
The high-pressure system that is due to move in over Ireland will be short-lived as week two of May brings unsettled conditions - however, it will return by week three.
The Irish forecaster says the outlook for the rest of the week is “mild or rather warm, but rather mixed before settling down from this weekend.”
