Ireland weather: Met Eireann forecast blast of heat as top forecaster says 'BBQ' conditions are days away

Ireland is set for a blast of summer heat over the coming weekend as it may be finally time to break out the BBQ and slap on the sun cream.

Met Eireann has predicted a largely sunny week. However, scattered showers will remain throughout most of the country before clearing just in time for Saturday.

Calm and clear conditions will spread across Ireland, with temperatures to reach as high as 20 degrees in places.
