Met Eireann’s weekend forecast indicates that warm days are ahead - but it comes with a twist.
Weather maps show a high pressure system dominating the weather over the coming days, which will largely maintain stable conditions.
However, its grip is set to weaken at times meaning occasional rain or showers will make surprise appearances.

Despite this, temperatures are forecast to hover above average for this time of year, with the national forecaster predicting thermometers could come close to 20C at times.
Met Eireann said: “While high pressure will continue to be the main influence over our weather bringing broadly benign conditions in the outlook period, its dominance will wax and wane so occasional rain or showers will occur at times.
“Precipitation amounts will be relatively low, however, and temperatures look likely to trend mostly near to slightly above average for the time of year.”
