Ireland will sizzle in a scorching 27 degrees this week, a weather expert has warned.
The temperature is expected to rise on Thursday as the mercury will peak at a boiling 27 degrees on Friday, Weather Alerts Ireland said.
The south east part of the country will see the hottest weather but it won't last for long.

They added: "Some spots in the West could struggle to reach 13 or 14 degrees as the colder air pushes in from the West."
Meanwhile, a heat alert has been issued by the Met Office in the UK as temperatures are set to hit a roasting 34 degrees later this week.
A level two alert has been issued from midnight on Friday for southern and central England while the northern part will see a level one alert in place.
