Ireland Six Nations quiz: Test your knowledge of the tournament

Call yourself a rugby fan? Just how well do you know the Six Nations tournament?

The 24th edition of the Six Nations Championship kicks off on Saturday with Ireland facing a testing trip to Wales, and before it does you can test your knowledge with this quiz.

Ireland have enjoyed some famous triumphs in the competition, winning two Grand Slams in the modern era with a couple of other near misses thrown in. They also claimed the title way back in 1948.

From 'Le Drop' in Paris to BOD's hat-trick, from Croke Park to Rome, even as far back as the Five Nations, we all have some wonderful memories, but can you recall the finer details?

Just how well do you remember those days and others as the Nothern Hemisphere's finest players do battle each spring.

Andy Farrell's current Irish panel is in Quinta do Lago in Portugal since Thursday ahead of Saturday's clash with Wales in Cardiff.

Ireland go into the tournament on top of the world rankings and on the back of an outstanding year which brought nine wins from 11 Tests.

While Ireland had to settle for the consolation of a Triple Crown behind Grand Slam champions France last year, bookmakers view them as the pre-tournament frontrunners this time around.

As the team fine-tune their preparations in Portugal, put yourself to the Six Nations test with the Irish Mirror and don't be afraid to let us know just how well you have done.
