Gardai have issued a new warning to the public after the rise in scam texts and emails continued into 2022.
The Covid-19 pandemic saw a massive rise in fraud claims.
Many saw thousands of euro being robbed from them via dodgy links, emails and scam calls.
And just days after the public were warned about an iPhone/Instagram scam, Gardai have been forced to alert people of a "very plausible" attempt involving a bank or a streaming service.
A Garda spokesperson from the Wexford, Kilkenny and Carlow regions said: "Here are some examples of scams that are circulating at present with a text pertaining to be from a bank or company.
"It is very plausible looking (and may even pop up within a previous text thread from the bank or company) but the link will send you to a site where your codes can be obtained for fraudulent use."
