Ireland oldest donut shop will be giving away free donuts tomorrow to mark National Donut day.
The first 500 people that enter one of the Rolling Donut shops and wish them a 'Happy National Donut Day' will be given a free sweet treat to take away. The Rolling Donut is Irelands oldest donut shop, with seven stores across Dublin and Kildare.
The company started out in 1978 and 45 years later it is still a firm favourite with Irish donut customers. As well as every type of classic donuts on offer at each Rolling Donut store, they are launching their new creation today called doughies.

The Rolling Donut said: "Doughies revisit the origins of old school donuts but elevate it to suit the more sophisticated tastes of Irish foodies. The Doughies are classic donuts, gently rolled in caster sugar, with a beautiful filling and a simple plug, displayed on their side to give a more artisanal handcrafted feel to the product."
Doughies come in five flavours which are toffee, blackcurrant, pistachio cream and eton mess.
The Rolling Donut are always creating new innovative varieties including vegan, sourdough and cake donuts.
Lisa Quinlan, owner of The Rolling Donut which was founded by her dad Michael Quinlan, said: “National Donut Day is like Christmas for The Rolling Donut, it’s always so busy and we love to see our customers come and treat themselves to their favourite donut and a coffee. We love creating new donuts and I’m always looking at new food trends, different flavours and coming up with new recipes and ideas with my team.
