'Ireland is a very friendly place - and has given me opportunities to shine'

Ireland has experienced much change in terms of inclusion and diversity since Amulya Lal first arrived from her native India almost 17 years ago. Now living in Dublin, Amulya has settled with her family and has risen to an impressive position as a marketplace adviser at eBay.

Born and raised in the city of Hyderabad, in the southern Indian state of Telangana, Amulya spent her childhood in a bustling household led by her paternal grandfather. She told Dublin Live this week how she has witnessed Ireland become more welcoming to all.

She said: "I came to Ireland during the summer of 2006. When I first thought of Ireland, I immediately took out the world map and started my research. I did have an idea it was near the UK. My grandfather was a well-read person and was a regular subscriber of literature magazines – one of its editions was based on Ireland."
