Ireland could resemble sunny Spain this week, as temperatures are set to soar into the mid 20Cs, potentially bringing what could be the hottest day of the year so far.
Met Éireann has revealed that high pressure will dominate making the weather much warmer, with the national forecaster revealing that one day could experience temperatures in the low 20Cs or even higher in one part of the country.
For this Monday, they said: "Cloud will gradually break up to allow good spells of sunshine to follow into the afternoon and early evening. Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees Celsius."

Temperatures will increase again for Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs of 19C noted, along with dry and mostly sunny spells.
On the outlook for the week, weather expert Alan O'Reilly of Carlow Weather said: "So who sang rain rain go away to sunny Spain? It seems it might work this coming week." He added that high pressure is "firmly in control" for the coming week on latest charts.
"That means settled and mainly dry weather with sunny spells. Temperatures getting up to 20c and possibly a little higher later in week," Mr O'Reilly detailed.
Met Éireann has forecast Thursday as potentially one of the hottest days of the year, which could surpass April 16, which marked the warmest day in 2023 in the country, with 21.3C registered at a weather station in Co Roscommon.
For Thursday, they said: "Warm and sunny with temperatures climbing into the high teens or low 20s widely, possible higher in prolonged sunshine further south. Winds will be mostly light northerly, though coastal breezes will set in at times."
The Irish meteorological service has also indicated that high pressure and sunny conditions will continue into next week according to early forecasting models.
