The second ODI between Ireland and Afghanistan effectively serves as the series opener after relentless rain washed out the first match in Bready without a single ball being bowled. With the five-match series still locked at 0-0, both teams will be eager to get off the mark in what promises to be a competitive contest.
Ireland head into the clash high on confidence after securing a memorable 2-0 T20I series victory over India. Led by Paul Stirling, the hosts will look to carry that momentum into the ODI format, despite missing out on valuable match time in the abandoned opener.
