Mounting fears of escalating conflict in the Middle East have been sparked by the recent attack on a commercial ship in the Indian Ocean. According to the Pentagon, an Iranian drone struck a chemical tanker on Saturday, causing a fire on board. Fortunately, none of the nearly two dozen crew members were hurt in the attack.
This incident marks a significant development, as it is the first time the Pentagon has directly implicated Iran in one of the attacks on commercial shipping. The U.S. defense officials have stated that the drone was launched from Iran itself and was identified as a one-way attack drone, also known as a suicide drone.
