Senior Iranian diplomat Abbas Araghchi issued a warning to Israel following the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh on Iranian soil. Araghchi stated that Israel would face a 'heavy price' for the targeted killing.
It was revealed that Araghchi is poised to assume the role of foreign minister in the upcoming Pezeshkian administration, as reported by state media sources.
In response to the incident, Araghchi emphasized that the Israeli government's actions would not impede the progress of the new Iranian government. He suggested that Israel's efforts to disrupt the workings of the incoming administration would ultimately be unsuccessful.
As of now, Israel has not officially claimed responsibility for the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, a prominent figure within the Hamas political leadership.
