Iran Tensions Underpin Crude Prices

Oil Donald Trump Iran OPEC United States Middle East Ukraine EIA Russia

March WTI crude oil (CLH26) today is up +0.45 (+0.69%), and March RBOB gasoline (RBH26) is up +0.0193 (+1.00%).

Crude oil and gasoline prices are moving higher today, but remain below Thursday's highs.  Geopolitical risks in the Middle East are underpinning crude prices after President Trump warned Iran to make a nuclear deal or face military strikes.  However, gains in crude today are limited due to a stronger dollar, and after President Trump said he had overnight discussions with Iran and indicated he expected them to continue.
