Iranian state media Press TV has reported that outgoing flights from several Iranian airports have been canceled, according to an Iranian official. The director of Iran’s public relations for an airport company announced in an interview that all flights going to Tehran, Isfahan, and Shiraz had already been suspended.
This development comes amidst growing concerns over the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Iran has been one of the countries heavily impacted by the virus, with a significant number of confirmed cases and fatalities.
