Iran-Backed Shia Militias Vow Revenge For Israeli Strike In Beirut

Israeli air strike in Rafah

Following the deadly Israeli strike in Beirut targeting a top Hezbollah commander, powerful Iran-backed Shia militia groups in Iraq have vowed to seek vengeance. Harakat al-Nujaba, in a statement released on Friday, declared their intent to respond forcefully and mercilessly to avenge those who lost their lives in the strike. Additionally, Kataib Hezbollah affirmed their commitment to supporting the cause of Palestine and holy Jerusalem in a separate statement on the same day.

These Iran-backed groups have been responsible for numerous attacks against US forces in Iraq and Israel since the commencement of the Israel-Hamas conflict. In response to these attacks, the US has carried out airstrikes targeting these militia groups.
