RAJKOT: Nitesh Pandey, IPS officer of 2017 batch, presently serving as Devbhumi Dwarka superintendent of police (SP) was among several Gujarat police officials who were felicitated for their ‘excellence in investigation’ by union home minister Amit Shah.
Pandey was conferred the medal for his probe in cracking Jamnagar-based gangster Jayesh Patel’s gang under GujCTOC by gathering scientific and forensic evidence, call recordings, documentary proof and attaching several properties of the gang members. Pandey was the assistant superintendent of police then. Under Pandey’s guidance, police had filed a chargesheet of 5,000 pages against the gang’s organized crime in the court. Pandey’s lead also helped in the arrest of Patel in London and the extradition process is underway.
