IPL 2025: Sanju Samson unfit, Riyan Parag to lead Rajasthan Royals in first 3 matches

JAIPUR: Sanju Samson, Rajasthan Royals’ regular captain, will hand over the reins to 23-year-old all-rounder Riyan Parag for the first three games of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 as he continues to recover from a finger injury sustained during India’s fifth T20I against England in Mumbai last month.

Samson, 30, has been advised to avoid wicket-keeping and fielding duties to allow his injured right index finger to heal fully. As a result, he will participate solely as a specialist batsman and as an Impact Sub during this period.
