NEW DELHI: Mumbai Indians lost their opening match of the Indian Premier League 2025 against Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk on Sunday and the side left for Ahmedabad the next morning. With their next fixture against Gujarat Titans still a few days away, the Hardik Pandya-led unit will be spending a couple of rest days in Jamnagar for team bonding activities before preparations for the next game take over.
It wasn't an ideal start for a depleted Mumbai unit as they went down to CSK in their season opener. On a sluggish surface, the team never got going with the bat and didn't have enough runs on the board to challenge the opposition. They will be bolstered by the return of regular captain Hardik Pandya, who missed the opening game due to a slow-over rate penalty from last season.
