Match number 4 of IPL 2023 will see two one time champions clash against each other. It will be 2016 champions Sunrisers Hyderabad taking on the inaugural champions from 2008 the Rajasthan Royals.

In IPL 2022, SRH finished a lowly 8th out of 10 teams, while the Royals had a terrific season, making it all the way to the final where they finished as runners-up after losing to Gujarat Titans.
