CHENNAI: This is a strange season for CSK. Ravaged by injuries to all their frontline pacers and No. 1 recruit Ben Stokes, the four-time champions know they are playing catch-up in every game even before a ball is bowled. Yet, five games into the season, they are very much in the mix with three wins.
While the top-order batting has clicked, it is basically the genius of captain MS Dhoni that is keeping CSK in the hunt for a top-four berth.
