Iowa women’s basketball superstar Caitlin Clark got a wonderful surprise this week.
After a stellar season that has led her Hawkeyes to the 2023 women’s NCAA tournament Final Four, Clark earned AP’s National Player of the Year honor.
Clark found out the news while making a visit to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital, where her team says she is a regular visitor to spend time with “any kiddo that requests a visit.”
A moving video was compiled for Clark of a few UI Stead’s patients congratulating her on her success, and she was soon joined by her teammates to celebrate the accomplishment.
It’s just a really cool moment for a basketball player who has certainly earned all the goodwill coming her way.
Caitlin Clark is a regular at @UIchildrens, spending time with any kiddo that requests a visit.
This one, however, came with an extra surprise.

With Clark getting a shoutout from a celebrity like John Cena for using the former wrestler’s “You can’t see me” taunt during a recent tournament game, you can see how the Hawkeyes star has reached beyond the court to impact the game.
Her charitable efforts have clearly made a difference for the kids at UI Stead, which is always worthy of the utmost praise.
