Authorities are facing challenges in determining the motives behind the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump by Thomas Matthew Crooks. Despite extensive efforts, including accessing Crooks' phone and computer, interviewing family and friends, and analyzing his search history, investigators have not found any clear political or ideological reasons for the attack.
The FBI has conducted close to 100 interviews with various individuals, but details about the findings on Crooks' phone and other materials have not been disclosed. The shooting, which took place at a Trump rally on July 13, was carried out by Crooks alone, according to authorities. He was shot by Secret Service agents after firing multiple shots from a building rooftop near the rally venue.
Crooks' parents, who have been cooperating with law enforcement, have mentioned that their son did not have a social circle and did not exhibit any strong political affiliations. The lack of a clear motive has left investigators puzzled as they continue to delve into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
