An investigation is underway after reports of 'damage' made to a house in Prestwich. Specialist search teams were at the scene on Heys Road on Tuesday evening (November 22) with a large cordon erected along the residential street as investigations continued.
Greater Manchester Police have since confirmed they were called to reports of 'damage' at an address along the street. A number of officers, along with search dogs, remained stationed outside a house at the scene.
Residents also told the Manchester Evening News that a car was set alight in the area just a couple of days ago. It has not yet been confirmed whether these two incidents are linked.

Onlookers told of how police had cordoned off the street on Tuesday afternoon, at around 2 o'clock. Some referenced that they were 'worried' at seeing the police presence, with no indication to what had occurred.
Police are still investigating the incident and are appealing for witnesses. The nature of the damage caused or any further details have not yet been confirmed.
One man said: “The police have been here all afternoon but wouldn’t tell me anything at all. It’s worrying when you have young children at home and want to feel safe."
Another, who has lived off adjoining Merton Road, added: “I’ve lived here for eight years but have always been local and honestly nothing really happens. We’ve had no trouble at all. A car was set on fire along Heys Road the other day, but that’s it.”
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 2pm today (Tuesday 22 November 2022), Greater Manchester Police responded to a report of damage at an address on Heys Road, Prestwich in Bury.
"An active investigation is now underway into the incident to understand the full circumstances. People in the local area are advised to avoid the vicinity if possible as road closures are still in place and will impact traffic and travel."
