An investigation has been launched after the British Army's official Youtube and Twitter accounts were hacked. The Army has confirmed a 'breach' of its Twitter and YouTube accounts took place on Sunday.
The Youtube channel began featuring videos on cryptocurrency and images of billionaire businessman Elon Musk. The Twitter account also raised suspicion after it then started retweeting a number of posts relating to non-fungible tokens (NFT).
An NFT is a crypto asset – such as an image, video or text – which people can be certified to own via blockchain. The Army has confirmed it is now investigating the incident after both official channels appeared to have been hacked.
